Playstation 5 is coming out this week and it will have the capability to live stream your gameplay to services such as Twitch and Youtube. The Playstation 4 “Share” button has been renamed to “Create” for the Playstation 5, but the functionality remains relatively the same. Sony’s hardware power can push the limits for console streaming for the next generation.
With amazing launch titles such as Godfall being available on day one, the lucky few who were able to pre-purchase the PS5 will be able to show off gameplay live on stream. This is a great opportunity to be at the forefront of gathering a following when a new game launches. With the combination of a console release and a triple A game, there is no better time to look at services such as Lightstream in order to come out strong.
We thought we would lend a hand by providing some tips on how to prepare before launch day.
Prepare before you stream on launch day.
- If you received the PS5 early, the obvious thing you need to do is go through all the launch day updates. Prepare yourself – this may take awhile.
- Sign up for Lightstream and setup your overlays
- Sign up for an alert and chatbot service to shout out all your new followers. Something like Rainmaker.
- Setup the network settings to stream via Lightstream
- Go to your network settings
- Choose to manually set your DNS server to 13.89.104.171 (or 52.143.11.150 for European users)
- You can leave the second server as zeros or blank
- And you’re done on the console! Now the Twitch Create functionality on the Playstation 5 will stream through Lightstream before going to your Twitch channel.
- Stay hydrated, make sure you have access to a lot of water or other liquids.
- Food, all of the food
- Clean your room, especially if you have a webcam.

That’s all you need to start streaming your Playstation launch adventures. We’re so excited for the PS5 launch – here a few of the launch titles that we can’t wait to play:
Godfall
My top pick as it soothes my need for a hack and slash looter.
This is an Action RPG developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox. Set in a fantasy world, you take control of one of the last exalted Knight’s Order to prevent an apocalyptic event. You have 5 weapon classes to choose from including the longsword, dual blades, polearm, two handed war hammer and a two handed greatsword.
I’ll personally be using a two handed war hammer as the stylistic gameplay built in will blend nicely with my playstyle. With single player and multiplayer options available at launch, I know I will be spending countless hours with my friends trying to min-max my character while being at the forefront of bleeding edge content.
Check out Godfall on the Epic Game Store, Playstation Store, and on their official website.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
I was beyond thrilled that Insomniac will be returning to build on the success of their 2018 Spider-Man release. The story will continue from the DLC “The City That Never Sleeps” left off where Miles Morales was bitten by a genetically-enhanced spider to gain…wait for it…powers that are similar to that of Peter Parker. Not surprisingly he has trained under Peter Parker for the better part of a year(plot sounds similar yet?).
With enhanced graphics from the PS5 and chained combos that will make your head spin. This will be a guaranteed successor and the best bang for your buck especially if you’re a completionist like myself.

Assassins Creed Valhalla
✅ Vikings
✅ Ragnar Storyline Integrated(Vikings Show/History Fan)
✅ Assassin’s Creed style gameplay
This is going to be a bit biased since I’m a huge fan of Viking lore, but if given the opportunity to be a Viking, count me in. Explore the gorgeous CG land of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, & England in Ubisoft’s latest installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Hack, slash, sneak, and loot your to greatness amongst the Vikings while striking fear to those in England. I will probably be spending most of my time exploring every nook and cranny of buildings, mountains, trees, water and soaking in the gorgeous scenery of Ubisoft’s reimagining of the Viking world.
